Still skeptical? Check out what others have to say!

I started working out about 2.5 years ago. I did a lot of online reading, mostly workout routines and some nutritional articles. I felt like I had a general idea of what I was doing, but looking back, I had no clue. I talked to “bros” at the gym, asked for advice and generally got the same responses. I got a lot of “eat more protein, don’t eat fat, eat clean” and “workout 5x a week, and do 3-4 sets of 8-10”  After doing that for about a year, I felt like I had noticed some improvement with muscle gains and definition, but who wouldn’t with having little to no lifting experience. I felt like I needed to really look into finding a coach who knew the ins and outs related to working out. I contact a friend of mine who has competed in bikini competitions. She’s lost a lot of weight, done multiple shows, and continues to lift after having heart issues and getting a pacemaker in her early 20’s. She recommended looking on Instagram and Facebook. I took her advice and stumbled across AJ’s Instagram. Shortly after emailing him, he replied quickly and within a week, I was on my way to newer and better things. From May of 2015 until July 2016, AJ and I were touch weekly, multiple times throughout the week, as well as the weekly pictures. Whether it was through emails or texts, AJ was always quick to respond and beyond helpful. I have gone through two short cuts and one bulk cycle. In that time, I’ve lifted more weight while losing weight, and turned my max deadlift in a regular 5x5 lift. I was able to lean out like I wanted this past cut, all while I was increasing my main lifts. I went from eating “clean” and binge crashing to incorporating any food I craved into my macros using IIFYM. That doesn’t mean I didn’t eat healthy and ate junk only. In fact, I was able to eat healthier foods more consistently, but able to eat a cupcake or cookies when I wanted to, while losing weight. I can honestly say this is the most fit and healthiest I have ever been, and wouldn’t have done that without AJ. I am blown away looking at my first set of weekly pictures to my most current pictures. He was extremely helpful over the past year and he knows what he’s doing. I highly recommend him to anyone who interested in a coach to help them meet any fitness goal. I am beyond grateful to have been able to work with him. Thank you for all your help and constant guidance, AJ.

"I knew that going to the gym and staring at the different machines and weights wasn’t going to get me in shape.  I needed help to learn how to make the best use of my gym membership.  I’m very pleased to say I found truly expert guidance from my personal trainer, AJ Hribal.  Even though I was intimidated and skeptical at the beginning, AJ’s casual, no-hype approach to fitness quickly put me at ease.  The variety of exercises & equipment that AJ incorporates into my workouts builds my interest and motivation.  I’ve not only reached my weight loss goal (in 3 months, like he said!), I’ve also noticed improved muscle tone all over.  For someone who had never touched a free weight, it’s amazing.  I’ve even embraced healthier, more balanced eating habits.  AJ readily shares his extensive knowledge of exercise and nutrition.  He encourages a balanced approach and it is easy to see that he lives by his words.  The confidence AJ projects in contagious.  I now look forward to going to the gym and seeing the results in the mirror."

"My story began in 2010 when I went to a natural bodybuilding competition with a friend. He asked me to go along to see his friend AJ Hribal compete. After the competition we went out to eat and I was introduced to AJ. On the way home, we began talking about the show and I told my friend that I had always had a dream of being able to compete some day but had no idea how to go about doing it. He encouraged me to give it a try and as we talked, I got more and more excited to try it. I thought, "I am retired and I am able to dedicate the time to the gym and training program". At that time I was 65 years old, 5'7 and weighed 186 pounds. Boy was I in bad shape! So my friend got me in contact with AJ. We talked about my goals along with if it was possible for me to get in good enough shape to compete. AJ assured me me dreams and goals were in fact possible and so we began. AJ put togehter a diet program and a workout schedule for me and i went to work. I had four months to get ready.

AJ was there with me every step of the way with advice, encouragement and changes to my routine. It didn't matter if it was encouragement, diet advice, changes, or workout tips he was ready to step in. So, in April 2012 I was in my very first competition. I was 155 pounds and I felt great and ready to take on the competition! I competed in the 60+ and the novice weight class. My dreams were exceeded when I placed first in the 60+ class and 3rd out of 8 in the novice class competing with mostly 20 year olds!

AJ is knowledgeable, committed, and a top rate professional. He helped me make my dream come true."

bodybuilding contest prep coach

“I am 18 years old and had been prepping for my first bodybuilding competition with my friend as my coach, it was torture. I Was 2.5 weeks away from my first show and I was doing multiple zero carb days losing no weight. I had also been doing over and hour of cardio per day, sometimes feeling like I would pass out. I wasn't looking how I hoped I would, because of this I had thought about giving up on the show. I text AJ to ask for his advice, he soon had a new plan made up for me. After just a few days on his plan and actually eating carbs, I started to lose weight again while looking more full! In 2.5 weeks I went from being flat and soft to taking first in the lightweight class! Suffice to say I would have not accomplished this without AJ's help. I am truly thankful for all he has done for me."

bodybuilding personal trainer
AJ Fit Bodies personal training

Working with my client Bruce Fosbrink. Bruce was a special needs client who had a goal of losing weight and adding some muscle. I worked with Bruce for almost one year. In that time Bruce lost ten pounds and added five pounds of muscle!

When I first started exercising on my own, it was mostly based off of information I learned back in high school and various youtube videos. I was making some gains, but nothing significant. So I decided to get a personal trainer at the local 24 hr fitness. AJ taught me proper form, eating habits, and the reasons behind why I should do things that way. He was always willing to answer any of my questions for better understanding of the techniques to use, and constantly pushed me to reach higher goals. Within a few months, AJ helped me achieve weightlifting goals that I didn’t think I could ever do, and I began to notice a sizable increase in muscle mass (greater than 10 lbs). About year after I started, I was 30 lbs. heavier than I started off, while maintaining my leanness, and can lift double what I could before in certain muscle categories. I feel healthier, have built up great lifting habits, and feel more confident in what I can physically do. AJ is an excellent personal trainer, and I would absolutely recommend him.

I've used AJ for past contest preps and this prep was very successful. We did a 20 week prep using a strict diet of IIFYM. I had weekly weight check ins and I sent pictures every Sunday. My starting weight was 210 and my final weight on stage was 169.9! AJ is fast with responding back, and also very knowledgeable on when to adjust numbers, adding refeeds, and cardio. I will continue using him for future preps and I'm excited to see what the future holds!
